Watercolor on YUPO - July 2008

New painting. This is what happens when some of my colors are too watery and I use too much. Big muddle puddles form. But I thought this came out interesting anyway.

I love the way some colours look as if they've broke off into tiny individual pieces, plus it emphasises on that great effect of layers that you seem to be realy good at. The depth in this with the colour arrangement looks really nice. Great piece. ;)

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it. I love it when my colors turn out the way I want.

Thank you. I like the piece in general but what bothers me most is that big brown puddle that blobbed off the bottom. I couldn't get rid of it. I was trying to juggle too many things at once.

Its alot like marbling ive seen a few really good examples of it recently its quite an "in" technique in abstract painting at the moment.
:iconpeacenquiet:
Awesome. I'm "in" and I didn't know it? Someplace on the web I can see this?

i saw in a few places on the web and i also an established artist at the fizz gallerie in clevedon somerset earlier this year who works almost exclusively with marbling oil paints on paper then applies them to canvas to make the finished product.sorry but i cant remember the artists name but i have seen this technique emerging again recently in abstract fine art as it was originally used for book covers in victorian times. Wikipedia has shows the way it is done.
